View and navigate BIM attributes and leverage for labeling and annotationįrequently Asked Questions What is Bentley LumenRT?.Import MicroStation traffic and VISSIM simulations.Use low-definition plants, vehicles, and characters, which can be placed in the source CAD/GIS system file and converted automatically to high-definition objects in LumenRT.Switch layers on or off to expose various parts of the scene. ![]() Create vast scenes in high definition without losing quality or increasing rendering time.Export geometries, materials, LumenRT proxies, lights, cameras, layers, and BIM information.Import objects using industry standard 3D formats (OBJ, DAE, FBX).Add section planes to dynamically create cross-sections views of the entire scene.Ensure source CAD/geospatial model changes are intelligently merged into the LiveCube while preserving existing scene geometry and edits.Enjoy API integration with MicroStation, Autodesk Revit, Esri CityEngine, Graphisoft ArchiCAD, and Trimble SketchUp.Integrate with BIM, CAD, and Geospatial Workflows Set camera focal distance to create eye-pleasing depth of field effects.Apply anamorphic streaks and lens flares that are fully adjustable for sunlight and artificial lights.Perform light and shadow studies with LumenRT’s adjustable sun, accurately set using NREL’s solar positioning algorithms.Set advanced material rendering options such as bump maps, specular highlights, reflections, and transparency control.Use high-performance anti-aliasing and motion blur for exceptional clarity and realism.Organize your lights into groups for easy on/off and automatic toggle settings.Create natural ambient shadows for all objects in your scene.Create custom materials and save them in your own material library.Easily select and adjust luminosity, brightness and contrast of all materials.Efficiently render both extremely bright and dark areas without loss of detail.Use point and spotlights that are fully adjustable with IES lighting profiles.Accurately render interaction between natural day and night light with rich atmospheric volume. Apply linear template of kerb to kerb returns at intersections as they are not part of a corridor ġ. At intersection, create kerb return geometry based on the platform surface and existing surface (where kerb return matches to existing kerbs on the intersecting road) ĥ. Generate edges of lane from a template with the vertical levels draped onto the platform.Ĥ. Generate a platform surface - projecting a string at 3% crossfall out to 50m on both sides ģ. Create design line geometry [Question: how to show other constraints such as a bridge model above the road in profile view?}Ģ. Used a lot of MicroStation for drafting though.Īfter watching through a lot of tutorials on Bentley LEARN, I have determined that the work flow is largely similar to 12D.ġ. Never used any Bentley design products before. 12D user here designing a road in OpenRoads for the first time.
